Paul Groebel (they/them) is a Berlin-based film editor and video artist.

As an editor, Paul Groebel accompanies projects from early ideas to the final structure, working closely with directors, writers and artists to develop forms that emerge from the material itself.

They value open communication, careful listening and a process that remains responsive to both material and people involved.

Their works have been programmed in numerous contexts, platforms and festivals and have been awarded including the German Short Film Award („Der Proband“ 2019).

Paul occasionally performs within a free improvisation music collective that is currently called „Salat“.
